In school our kids have been taught to read and write, how to add and subtract, but they have also been taught to adhere to cultural norms, choose socially acceptable career paths and to suppress anything about themselves that doesn't fit the social mold. You taught them that it's okay to be yourself, to celebrate their differences and most importantly, you have taught us that real success is being true to oneself. You are still so kind, warm and genuine despite what has been done to you.
